By the way, I just came across character pages recently and noticed that the "/Plot" subpages were deleted. I am neutral with it because it is only logical, the main characters such (Kyoko and Ren) are seen in [almost] every chapter of the series so it would really be tedious work to write every moment they appear in plus, those pages were never completed at all.
However, I am planning on putting them back someday, if you don't mind. Definitely not around these days, but probably when there's more people around here (+ when I am able to completely prioritize on finishing those). Because I think it seems kind of odd for side characters such as Miya (Kyoko's gas co-worker) and Sho's Driver to have complete plots whereas the more prominent characters, such as Sho (who definitely don't appear in every chapter anyway, so the Story Arcs referral on his 'Plot' heading doesn't precisely cover the times he appeared) don't have that kind of part in his page.
Hi! Gosh, I thought I was recovering, but I seem to have gotten worse again since last night. :/ I don't know what's going on. Anyways thanks for asking.
For the major characters, the /Plot subpages seem like just an incredibly long list of minor details, as well as redundant since all of the information is already spelled out in the story itself. I feel that having long articles of block text isn't user friendly at all. Coming to a wiki and clicking on page that's just seemingly unending text isn't going to want to make anyone stick around to read it.
As far as the fact that more minor characters have that subheading... that's kind of the point. A character with only 1-4 appearances should just have a quick rundown of how they're significant to the story on their main page. It doesn't have to be called "Plot" but for the moment it is.
Regarding Sho's plot link to the story arcs, instead there could be a bulleted list of links to which story arcs he appears in. That would be more precise. As well as much more user friendly.
I realize there's a difference of opinion here. What do you think?
I went over the deleted Plot pages (and subheadings) and noticed that most of it go kind of off. The bullet list is fine but I personally think it still doesn't precisely cover the whole "plot" of a character. For instance, Shoko does appear in those arcs but she does not appear in every chapter (plus there's no mention of her in the Arcs page). Hmmm. I think it'd be better to have the Arcs in bulletform/subheadings but instead of listing the whole moments they've been in like before, an overview (of maximum of 2-3 paragraphs) would be more rational.
I'm thinking of something like this:
Prisoner arc (or *Prisoner arc)
Shoko accompanies Sho for his Prisoner PV shoot and much like the talent she manages and the PV producer, they are surprised at the sudden transformation of Kyoko in her role. She also seems to be more aware about the unique bond of Sho and Kyoko.
instead of the usual tedious and not-so-user-friendly like you mentioned here below:
When Kyoko entered the room, Shoko was seen standing in the door............
How are you? I could see the things are going well with the wiki, it is very updated with the chapters and new characters have been added as well. So much has happened and currently, I'm still catching up to the current chapter so I'm re-reading the series all over again, haha. ^^
Hi! Welcome back, it's so good to see you around! I'm super sick atm, unfortunately. :(
I haven't been doing a great job keeping up. I really don't trust the Skip Beat! scanlations (particularly after I read Saena's story in English) and I don't want to get spoiled, so I've been avoiding all of Aerendria's additions. I have up through volume 38, but trimming down and fixing the chapter summaries is a huge time consumer. I can't remember which chapter I left off on, I'd have to check my contributions and my bookmarks. I hope to get a bit more focused than I have been on the Skip Beat! wiki after my illness clears up, though.
Awww, I hope you get well soon! :((
I agree, for most part, especially at the start of Saena's arc, a lot of confusions have stirred up especially when different scanalation groups have spurted, releasing different versions of the chapters. I think I left off somewhere in Saena's arc and I see spoilers here and then, but I haven't fully absorbed it because I lost track of the story pace, haha.
I cleaned up the article, and included that Shoko was sympathetic toward Kyoko prior to their meeting. I genuinely don't feel that Shoko's professional action of calling security when Kyoko lost her cool is something that either of them take into account in their relationship with each other. It happened, but neither of them bring it into play when they see each other.
That picture you're using right now is almost a decade old; it pre-dates my career in voice over, and fans are finding it in Google Image searches and spreading it around. It'd be a big help if you'd swap it out with my official headshot instead. Thanks!
Hi there, Pokkiri! It has been awhile, and I'm so glad to see you return. ^.^
I'm sorry, though, I need you to be a bit more specific by what you mean about a mistake regarding an audition in the manga?
If it's about the content of an article, Aerendria has read the most recent arc, but I haven't. If you disagree about something that was put in regarding an audition, feel free to message her.
If it's about the title A Lotus in the Mud vs. Ren in the Purple Down... are you trying to say that Ren in the Purple Down is a different show with a similar name? If that's the case, my apologies. The mistake is definitely mine by assuming that was an alternate translation.
Hey so I was going to start up a page for the drama "lotus in the mud" however the link was already in use for the arc. I changed the arc's page name to Lotus in the Mud arc to match the others however it still won't let me use the link cause its a redirect link now. I was wondering if you knew how to delete the redirect so I can make the drama's page? I don't know how to do that :(
I'd love your help, as much as you're willing to give. For instance, you follow the latest individual chapter releases, right? You'd probably know when the newest information becomes available. Can you keep us informed?
Aereandria wrote: Sure I'm up to date and I'm a shameless spoiler monger haha
So what would that entail? Like providing links to scans/summary of the newest chapter?
I was thinking more along the lines of sharing the date of an upcoming chapter release. A new chapter page can be created. Once there's information, you, me, any user, can fill it in.
Definitely not by providing links. It's important to not promote manga pirating on the wiki. This is why we have to be careful with no direct quotes other than from the publisher, and no images with fanmade text. We still want to provide the information if it's out there, just have to do it while stepping carefully. ^.^
A couple ways. The easiest will be under the Upcoming Release Dates heading I just created on the manga page. i.e. "Chapter ### will be released in Japanese in the Month issue of Magazine on Month Day Year." (sorry, it's late and I'm doing this off of a mobile device).
The other would be to create the next chapter page and infobox with the info in it.
Honestly, you're the one I could see the most as a potential administrator and I was initially going to offer it to you at first but I was worried that you might be busy with your other wiki project so I'm glad you applied for the adminship :) I'm happy to be leaving this wiki (for now) with safe hands. I know you'll do great as an administrator. Please don't hesitate to message me if you have any inquires or etc. and I will try to answer them as quick as I can...
Some management tasks that should be always checked (and cleaned up) would be UncategorizedFiles and UnusedFiles to avoid unnecessary and keep the files order in the wiki.... I wish you all the best, I know you'll do a great job :)
