Ren has to come to terms with the fact that he needs Kyoko in more ways than one. Chiori shows some character growth. Kyoko hopes for a fairy sighting.

Chapter Summary

When Ren sees Yashiro, he waits for the teasing about his sharing a hotel room with Kyoko to begin. Yet it doesn't.

Ren remembers his conversation with Lory about not needing Kyoko as a good luck charm. Lory asked him if his self-restraint wasn't strong enough after one night. Ren explains that isn't his reason, though his willpower may be a part of it. He tells Lory, "When she's with me I nearly forget what I must remember in order to live."[1]

Yashiro wakes Ren from his thoughts to call him in to his next appointment. As they walk together, Yashiro expresses his pity over Ren's situation to Kyoko. Ren is surprised at not being teased and instead being told sympathetically that his situation is torture. Yashiro says he understands why Lory wouldn't want him alone as Cain Heel, but if Kyoko's presence keeps him from sleeping, he'll be worse off. Yashiro suggests Ren think of getting rid of Setsu, pointing out that Kyoko wouldn't lose any pay and her role isn't one that's needed in the film.

Ren again remembers the conversation with Lory, who said he didn't mind pretending Setsu never existed, but Ren will have to tell Kyoko himself and truthfully explain why. "You said you don't need her. I refuse to go along with it. I think you need that girl, but you have the final say." [2]Ren is aware that he could never truthfully say "I don't need you" to Kyoko, and Lory knows it.

Ren worries if he'll be able to stop himself next time before he goes berserk. Then he realizes he'd completely tuned out of Ogata's update to the cast and crew—again.

On the Box "R" set, Kyoko has to do a retake because she accidentally responded in character as Setsuka Heel instead of as Natsu Kitazawa. Later, while walking to the next location, Kyoko gets caught at an outdoor market buying suggestive clothes for Setsu. Chiori tells Kyoko she thought she was more modest and is disappointed. Kyoko claims they are a gift, then asks Chiori why she isn't driving like before. Chiori claims its because Kyoko is her senior in Love Me, therefore she can't drive when Kyoko has to walk.

She goes on to explain that walking will help clear her mind, when before she was all turmoil in the car. Chiori shows Kyoko one of her hate journals to demonstrate how it used to be. Kyoko is shocked at the contents. It expressed a lot of anger at not being recognized and violence if someone did. Chiori explains that now she thinks of herself as a newcomer under the stage name she currently uses, and she no longer gets angry at not being recognized but in fact feels more free. She could buy embarrassing underwear like Kyoko and it wouldn't make a difference... which suddenly makes Chiori wonder why Kyoko isn't being recognized since she's famous from Dark Moon.

Kyoko says she's never recognized, and right now she's dressed like Natsu, whom no one knows yet, and doesn't look like either Kyoko or Mio. So she's like a nameless newcomer, too.

Chiori's expression has gone vacant as she stares. One word slips out of her mouth, "Fairy." Kyoko goes ecstatic and frantically looks around until she goes running off like "a ferrari." Kyoko sees a lot of people excitedly full of disbelief at what they are seeing. One person says they saw him get out of a car. Another person says he's just behind another car. Kyoko can't believe a fairy is letting himself be seen by so many people, but she definitely wants to see the fairy, too.

"Ah, he's there!" One of the excited onlookers points.[3]

It turns out the person causing all the excitement and whom Kyoko mistook for a fairy is Ren.
