|A Quiet Battle|
|Character/s in the cover||N/A (Kyoko Mogami)|
A Quiet Battle is the 129th chapter of the Skip Beat! manga series.
The significant differences between eager-to-please talento Kyoko and confident actress Kyoko/Natsu has Honami and Yuka in confusion. Honami begins to figure out that Kyoko was getting into character but scoffs at it happening before the cameras are rolling. Yuka mentions the veteran actor legend about characters that keep hold of the actor even off stage. Honami gives Kyoko credit for crafting someone closer to Natsu than Mio, but then breaks out the school uniform bow that she stole and declares it will all fall apart anyway. Kyoko notices that part of her costume missing.
Ren is doing a modeling set. Backstage, Ren can clearly see something has been on Yashiro's mind the last couple of days and presses him to reveal it. Yashiro asks Ren if he would walk like a female model for him, too, because he's been having a hard time imagining it... and is solidly refused.
In the car, Yashiro and Ren discuss Kyoko's progress in modeling, and how she got blisters after that one night's training with Ren. Ren states that it's Kyoko's natural talent and ability to learn quickly. Between the new modeling training, the Princess Rosa necklace she made, and the clothes she borrowed from LME, Kyoko should look completely different.
All those on the set of Box "R" witness this change and are taken aback by it. Though since Honami and Yuka saw it once before, they are more readily able to break out of their surprise to notice that Kyoko isn't wearing the bow. Kyoko goes right up to Kazutoyo and apologizes, with a bow befitting Natsu, that she's late because she couldn't find the bow for her costume.
The awful game of Pass the Blame goes from the wardrobe lady, to Honami, to Kyoko. Honami is going on about how Natsu must have lost it herself, while Kyoko gets an expression on her face that shows she knows Honami is the one who took it. The expression turns purposeful and dangerous.
