And Hence Are Disentangled and Released is the 110th chapter of the Skip Beat! manga series.
Lory wonders what Ren will say first. Ren gets straight to the point and wants to know why Kyoko was pretending to be Kuon, the son Kuu loved from the bottom of his heart before he developed a twisted view of the world and became harsh and tough. Kuu flicks Ren hard in the forehead and informs him that he still loves his son from the bottom of his heart, despite someone thinking he's tough and harsh with a twisted view of the world. No one can replace his son. Ren hold his forehead, stunned.
Lory tells them both to quit talking about Kuon in the third person, since no one else is around they should address each other as father and son.
Kuu tells Ren he won't force him. Ren starts to apologize for something but Kuu cuts him off, saying he understands. He also explains that he didn't ask Kyoko to act young Kuon out for him. He gave her a training assignment only, because she was having trouble with her new part. Her problem is that she can't do a role unless she likes it.
Ren sees this truth in this, and mentally ticks off a list the type of roles Kyoko would like and which ones she's already done.
Kuu goes on to explain that once Kyoko gets over being picky and realize how fun acting is no matter what the role, she'll become one of the greats. She is the frightening type of actor who gets taken over by a role once it gets a hold of them, just like Ren. Wasn't he surprised to see her Kuon? To see himself, looking back at him?
Ren admits that he was, which is why he suspected that Kuu had told her things about him. Kuu asks him to explain.
As Kuon, Kyoko did things that Ren would have done at age 10, like call Lory "the Boss" and...
Kuu gets angry and cuts Ren off again. "Do you think I'm stupid? Why do you think . . I'm acting like complete strangers? It's to protect you when you're starting out from scratch as Ren Tsuruga, so you can secure a place where you can live as an actor and a human being. . . where the fact that you're my son isn't what's fueling your career." So why would he tell details about his son to a complete stranger? She created it on her own and it was just like the real Kuon. What happened at the TV station was completely improvised on her part. She must like playing Kuon.
Ren deliberately changes the topic and asks about his mother. Kuu reveals that he came to Japan not only to promote his new movie, but to ask Ren a favor for Juliena. Kuu knows he just said that he wants to protect Ren Tsuruga, but would Ren mind being Kuon for just 5 minutes. Juliena told him a few days earlier that she only had three months left to live.

- ↑ Kyoko may have picked this up from observing Kuu himself or it may have been an intuitive guess considering Kuon is American.
